Jules Stuyck
Overview
Jules Stuyck is a senior counsel in Crowell & Moring's Brussels office and is a member of the firm’s Antitrust and Competition and Product Risk Management groups. Jules is an experienced litigator, focusing on European competition law, intellectual property, and market practices. He counsels clients on state aid, the customs union, free movement, public procurement, trademark and trade practices law, media law, and environmental law.

Professional Activities and Memberships
Jules is an emeritus professor of top European universities: KU Leuven (Catholic University Leuven) (BE) and Raboud Universiteit Nijmegen (NL). He is chair of the SELDIA (the direct selling association) Code Administrator.

- Jules represented the Belgian authorities in the first important follow-on claim for damages against members of a cartel (that had previously been condemned by a Decision of the European Commission).
- Jules acted recently for an important operator of the sharing economy against incumbents that tried to hinder the activity with an action for unfair competition in Belgian courts.
- He represented a Belgian airline in a state aid case triggered in a Belgian court by a competitor.
- He assisted several European agencies before the General Court of the EU in cases regarding public procurement.
