Renewable Energy

Overview

Crowell & Moring handles the difficult issues confronting development and financing of renewable projects. Our highly-ranked attorneys provide strategic advice for the transactions and the regulatory strategy to implement renewables projects, energy storage projects and related interconnection facilities and market products. We structure the project contracts for renewables projects large and small, negotiate strategic ventures with innovators in the renewables space and work with emerging companies to create revenue streams for new products. Our attorneys are well-recognized for their work both in renewable energy experience and climate change and finance.

Our energy team’s work extends beyond the USA and into Latin America and Asia. While we represent the leading players in the renewables space (including developers, yield cos, merchant generators and transmission companies, investor-owned utilities and trade associations), we also are proud of our depth in representing universities, other educational institutions, industrials and others for whom energy is not their core business but who turn to our firm’s deep cross-disciplinary knowledge to provide wise counsel in energy matters. The majority of the firm's energy work is in and around wind, solar, biomass, hydro and other renewables and clean technologies.
