Overview

Tai is an associate in Crowell & Moring’s Washington, D.C., office and a member of the firm’s Health Care and International Dispute Resolution groups.

In her health care practice, Tai counsels and represents managed care organizations, insurers, health care providers, and health care technology companies in various regulatory, transactional, and litigation matters. She has experience in the rapidly developing areas of digital health and health data and advises health care entities seeking to comply with federal and state laws and regulations, including those related to fraud and abuse.

In her international dispute resolution practice, Tai represents and advises investors in complex cross-border investment arbitrations. She also works with foreign and domestic clients in Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act (FSIA) and Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) litigation, which includes victims of terrorism around the globe.

Tai maintains an active pro bono practice with a focus on immigration law, where she represents clients seeking asylum and special immigrant juvenile status, among other forms of relief.

Tai earned her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School, where she served as a writing fellow to assist peers in their legal writing, led the GW Law Association for Women as president, and represented low-income clients as a student attorney in the Public Justice Advocacy Clinic. Tai previously earned her B.A. in psychology and Spanish at Tufts University.

End of Year Regulations on Interoperability

Federal policy efforts to advance health data exchange and interoperability are continuing to change rapidly. The latest changes are the publication of two final rules by the Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy/Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ASTP/ONC) finalizing parts of the of the Health Data, Technology, and Interoperability (HTI-2) Proposed Rule.
