Shanghai
Overview
Crowell & Moring’s Shanghai office is of strategic importance to the firm’s global regulatory, transactional, and dispute resolution capabilities and sits at the cross-roads of one of the world’s leading economies. Our team, which has practiced together for more than two decades, includes lawyers and professionals who have served as senior customs, trade, and tax officials in the Chinese government, giving them unique insight into Chinese policy and practice, as well as relationships and regional insights spanning the Asia-Pacific region. Working collaboratively with colleagues from our U.S. and European offices, our Shanghai team provides strategic services to leading multinationals with challenging market entry and operational questions, as well as Chinese companies with issues involving their outbound investments around the world.
We offer multinational and Chinese clients a full range of services, including international trade, customs, corporate, employment, tax, and regulatory compliance and investigations. Our global team also works alongside the experienced consultants at C&M International, the firm’s policy and regulatory affairs affiliate, in Washington, DC and Singapore, to help multinational companies achieve their policy and business goals in the Asia-Pacific region. In addition to Shanghai, we have Chinese language capabilities in several of our offices, including Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and New York.

Our lawyers also serve as law school alumni mentors to provide advice on students’ legal career development.
