Overview

Weronika Bukowski is a counsel in the International Trade Group of Crowell & Moring and resident in the firm’s New York office.

Weronika’s practice focuses on international trade litigation spanning a broad range of issues, including antidumping and countervailing duties, customs-related disputes, duty evasion, circumvention, and matters arising under sections 201 and 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 and section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962.  She also advises clients on compliance with sanctions administered by OFAC, export controls in the EAR and the ITAR, the FCPA, U.S. import and customs rules, and other civil and criminal statutes and regulations.

Before joining Crowell & Moring, Weronika clerked for the Honorable Timothy C. Stanceu of the Court of International Trade, where she assisted Judge Stanceu in a number of cases related to antidumping and countervailing duties, customs, and matters arising from the Court’s residual jurisdiction.  Prior to her clerkship, Weronika worked at an international law firm where she represented clients on compliance and enforcement issues related to economic sanctions, export controls, customs, and white collar matters.

Weronika also has experience working in the legal department of a major Japanese trading house.  During her time at the company, she advised on major sanctions enforcement issues and coordinated with legal, business, and finance departments of various overseas subsidiaries to draft and implement a global sanctions and export controls compliance policy.

As a law student, Weronika served as the Managing Editor for the Georgetown Journal of International Law.

Weronika speaks Japanese and Polish.
