Overview

Robin Baillie is a consultant in Crowell & Moring’s Energy Group in the firm’s London office. He has over 20 years of experience advising clients on energy and infrastructure projects around the world.

He has a broad infrastructure project practice advising developers, project sponsors, infrastructure funds, government bodies, lenders, contractors and operators on a wide range of projects involving energy, transport, health care, education, and accommodation. The work involved includes project development, project finance, and acquisition and divestiture.

In the U.K., Robin’s experience has been predominantly advising sponsors and developers on projects in the renewable energy, transport, and social infrastructure sectors.

  • Advising a construction contractor on the build and ongoing maintenance of a series of solar projects in the East of England.
  • Advising a U.K.-based infrastructure fund on the acquisition and ongoing operation and maintenance of a water treatment facility in North Carolina.
  • Advising on numerous secondary market acquisitions in health, education, transportation, defense, and housing sectors in Europe and North America.
  • Advising joint venture on the development, finance, and construction of a £300 million waste tyre processing facility in the U.K.
  • Advising infrastructure funds on the financing and development of a number of renewable energy projects in the U.K.
  • Advising on the development and construction of a major hydrogen power facility in the U.K.
  • Advising developers and sponsors on numerous biomass and RDF based EFW facilities across the U.K.
  • Advising the owners and operators on a wide variety of operational issues and refinancings in relation to various PPP and energy projects in the U.K and North America.
  • Advising sponsors and developers on a number of development and regeneration schemes in the U.K. and Middle East.
  • Advising the developer on the construction and development of new bio-fuels facilities in France.
