Anna Gergely

She has focused on nanotechnologies early on as related to a broad spectrum of industrial sectors. She has chaired the Nanotechnologies Task Force of AmCham EU and the Regulation Working Group of NANOfutures, a flagship project sponsored by the European Commission. She has been appointed as a member of the Scientific and Technical Board of the International Risk Governance Council, an independent science-based think tank with a mission to manage emerging risks with impact on human health and the environment and overall sustainability, where she followed the impact of REACH, the EU chemical legislation.

Legal 500 EMEA has ranked her in Tier 1 over the years and noted her “rare ability to give clients not only legal advice, but also a scientific interpretation of complex REACH matters,” noting that her “excellent scientific background” is a “great asset.”

Before her legal and academic research career, Anna had an in-house technical position at the Monsanto Chemical Company in Belgium. Then, following almost three decades in the legal sector, Anna has successfully combined her academic and industry backgrounds to provide creative regulatory solutions to different industry matters based on her deep scientific and legal knowledge of relevant regulatory areas.

Anna is the author or co-author of several articles and book chapters and a frequent presenter at relevant conferences.
