Washington – August 15, 2024: The 2025 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® has recognized 42 Crowell & Moring lawyers as "Best Lawyers" and 29 lawyers as “Ones to Watch.”

Washington – August 17, 2023: The 2024 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® has recognized 47 firm lawyers as "Best Lawyers" and 41 lawyers as “Ones to Watch.”

Many colleges and universities have transitioned to on-line courses and have asked students to vacate campus housing, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, some of those students have filed putative class actions against both public and private universities – demanding a break on tuition and mandatory and other fees. We anticipate similar class action complaints being filed around the country against other universities.

Effective November 1, the California Supreme Court has approved new Rules of Professional Conduct for California attorneys. Supreme Court Administrative Order 2018-05-09 implements 69 new rules of professional conduct, replacing the 46 rules California attorneys must follow. The new rules have been renumbered and reorganized to align with the ABA Model Rules, and also contain several modifications and new additions. Join experienced Crowell & Moring litigator Dan Sharp as he covers the background and substance of the new rules, with particular emphasis on their impact for practicing litigators. This program is eligible for one hour of continuing legal education ethics credit.

The Health Care Group is sponsoring the CSHA (California Society of Healthcare Attorneys) 2018 Annual Meeting & Spring Seminar. Typically 200 California healthcare lawyers attend, including in-house counsel and law firm attorneys. CSHA members represent hospitals, LTC facilities, clinics, physicians, physician groups, medical staffs, managed care companies, insurers, pharmaceutical companies and other clients.
