Collective Dismissal: The Current Rules and Upcoming Changes

Webinar | 05.10.21, 7:00 AM CDT - 9:00 AM CDT

Our current circumstances have resulted in many Belgian companies needing to restructure – whether it be a matter of a small headcount reduction or a collective layoff and closure of an undertaking. And, if we can believe recent press articles and surveys, it would seem that this state of affairs is likely to continue until at least the end of the year.

This webinar is designed to help companies get through these difficult times by explaining the collective dismissal procedure and its timeline, and highlighting some important points that employers need to consider. We will present a case study to give our attendees a concrete example of the different steps to be taken, and we will discuss some possible alternatives to collective dismissal. We will also look at some upcoming changes in this area, based on the most recent recommendations from the National Labor Council.

State legislatures are also racing to implement their own regulations, particularly around AI’s use in critical areas, such as healthcare, labor and employment, and data privacy. The many sources of regulation raise the specter of a fragmented compliance environment for businesses. This webinar will delve into the Administration’s AI strategy, going beyond the headlines to analyze:...
