World IP Review Ranks Crowell & Moring in USA Trade Secrets Rankings 2024

Washington – January 7, 2025: World IP Review ranked Crowell & Moring in the inaugural USA Trade Secrets Rankings 2024. These rankings are “a comprehensive guide showcasing the leading law firms and lawyers at the forefront of trade secrets law in the United States.”

The firm achieved Recommended status and partner Mark Klapow was Highly Recommended.

Klapow represents clients in trade secrets and other complex disputes nationwide. He has represented Fortune 500 companies, as well as many technology companies and start-ups in some of their most challenging disputes. WIPR’s commentary stated, “seasoned litigator Mark Klapow ‘is a terrific winning lawyer,’ according to a major financial client, while a distinguished peer says he ‘always seems to be on one of these big trade secrets cases.’ One client’s reasons for choosing the firm was their ‘excellent success record with Mark Klapow.’”

Klapow is also a thought leader in the trade secrets legal community, including serving  on the Trade Secrets Steering Committee of the Sedona Conference and co-chairing the ABA-IPL Trade Secrets and Interferences with Contracts Committee. He previously served as chair of the of AIPLA Trade Secret Law Committee and speaks at its conference every year. He is also an editor of Crowell’s Trade Secrets Trends blog.

Crowell & Moring Represents Nuclear Energy Startup Atomic Alchemy in its Acquisition by Oklo

March 11, 2025: Oklo Inc. (NYSE: OKLO), an advanced nuclear technology company, announced on March 5, 2025 that it has closed the $25 million acquisition of Crowell client Atomic Alchemy Inc. (“Atomic Alchemy”), a leading innovator in radioisotope production. Oklo intends to use this strategic acquisition to establish a more reliable domestic supply chain for high-value radioisotopes critical to healthcare, research, and defense sectors and provides synergies to Oklo’s fuel recycling and nuclear energy businesses. Demand for radioisotopes is expected to increase significantly over the next decade, while global supply struggles to keep pace due to aging reactor infrastructure and a fragmented global supply chain, which at present is dominated by countries outside the United States.
