Orange County – March 9, 2020: The National LGBT Bar Association has named Crowell & Moring counsel Tiffany Chang to its 2020 Best LGBTQ+ Lawyers Under 40 List. The list recognizes legal professionals who have distinguished themselves in their field and have demonstrated a profound commitment to LGBTQ+ equality.
Chang, a member of the firm’s Antitrust Group and the firm’s LGBTQ+ affinity group, dedicates a significant part of her practice to pro bono advocacy, including representing LGBTQ+ migrants seeking asylum in the United States. In addition, she was a founding member and currently serves on the board of the Orange County Lavender Bar Association, which was organized as a space for LGBTQ+ attorneys and allies to find solidarity and community. Chang also helped found the Orange County Equality Coalition in the wake of California’s Proposition 8, where she helped organize rallies and educational town halls galvanizing support for marriage equality and protests of discriminatory practices and incidences around Orange County.
“My work at Crowell & Moring and my LGBTQ+ advocacy go hand-in-hand,” said Chang. “Ever since I worked with the firm in law school to file an amicus brief in the first Proposition 8 appeal, I have known that this is a firm that fosters success for diverse lawyers, including being a part of advancing LGBTQ+ rights and visibility.”
