The National Law Journal Names S. Starling Marshall a Tax Law Trailblazer

New York – July 13, 2023: The National Law Journal has named Crowell & Moring partner S. Starling Marshall to its 2023 list of Tax Law Trailblazers. The list features lawyers who are “agents of change” and have made significant marks on their sector.

Marshall is co-chair of Crowell’s Tax Group and a member of the Litigation Group. She is a trial lawyer with more than 15 years of experience who has successfully represented clients before federal and state courts, arbitration panels, and administrative tribunals. Drawing on her years of government service and private practice, Marshall guides clients toward solutions throughout all phases of an investigation or litigation. In addition to representing clients in all stages of litigation, Marhsall advises clients through complex IRS audits and administrative appeals, provides tax-related advice, conducts internal investigations, and represents individuals and corporate entities in criminal tax matters.

ADL and Crowell Bring Suit to Hold Iran, Syria and North Korea Accountable for Supporting Hamas’ October 7 Terror Attack in Israel

ADL (the Anti-Defamation League) and Crowell & Moring LLP today filed a federal lawsuit alleging Iran, Syria and North Korea provided material support to Hamas that enabled it to commit atrocities in Israel on October 7, 2023, that killed, injured, and terrorized scores of U.S. citizens and their families, and seeking financial compensation under applicable federal and local laws. The suit names over 125 plaintiffs, including U.S. citizens who were injured or killed as a result of the October 7 attack, and immediate family members of those injured or killed.
