The American Lawyer Names Crowell & Moring’s Ellen Dwyer a Finalist for Best Law Firm Mentor Award

Washington – August 10, 2022: The American Lawyer named Ellen Dwyer, chair of Crowell & Moring’s Executive Committee, as a finalist at the American Lawyer Awards in the category of Best Mentor – Law Firm. The award honors “someone who has dedicated a significant portion of their time and energy to mentoring younger professionals. This could be demonstrated through the lawyer or professional’s deep commitment to an individual or through mentoring a litany of younger professionals over their career.”

In addition to chairing the Executive Committee, Dwyer serves as a member of the firm’s Management Board. She has been a senior leader at Crowell & Moring for more than a decade and a champion of diversity efforts at the firm and within the broader legal industry as chair of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. Dwyer led the launch of the firm’s sponsorship program – the first program of its kind in the AmLaw 100, which has propelled the advancement of women and underrepresented lawyers across the firm.  

Dwyer represents employers in the full array of labor and employment matters, including litigating actions filed under federal and state anti-discrimination, retaliation, and related employment laws. She has extensive experience investigating Board-level sexual harassment and other sensitive employment related matters, and advises clients on myriad employment issues, including diversity, equity and inclusion.
