Firm News | 2 min read | 08.10.22

Denver – August 9, 2022: Regis University named Crowell & Moring’s Meshach Rhoades to the Regis Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2022. This year’s class is all-female in honor of the 50th anniversary of Title IX.

In announcing the recognition, the university described Rhoades as “not only dependable and durable, but also a sensational playmaker,” as well as “a staple for Regis women's basketball during her four years, starting a school record 111 games.”

Rhoades is the managing partner of the Denver office and a member of the firm’s Litigation practice group. She is an experienced litigator and trusted advisor to senior management in all facets of complex commercial and regulatory litigation. Rhoades has litigated a variety of cases regarding contracts, intellectual property, business torts, real estate, false advertising and defense of government enforcement proceedings, class actions and products liability, and labor and employment in state and federal courts nationwide.  She has specific expertise with food and beverage law, providing both her litigation and counseling advice to many of the top US companies in the industry.

In a recent interview with Law.com, Rhoades mentioned how her experience playing college basketball has contributed her success in the legal field, saying “I view my role as the point guard for the office. I was a college basketball player—a point guard. My role was to make everyone around me better, to distribute the ball, to recognize peoples’ strengths and put them in a position to build on those strengths while providing support to minimize weaknesses. The inherent challenge is that I have to know my team, understand their goals, and recognize their value. This cannot simply be a one-time meeting. This requires continual effort and strategic vision and determination.”
