Public Interest Law Initiative Names Crowell & Moring to 2023 Pro Bono Recognition Roster

Chicago – June 29, 2023: The Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) named Crowell & Moring to its 2023 Pro Bono Recognition Roster. Crowell was one of 44 law firms and corporations honored for making “significant commitments and contributions to pro bono throughout the state of Illinois, and who help ensure that individuals, families, and communities who are in need receive legal services.”

Honorees were recognized at a ceremony on June 21 at the Ivy Room at Tree Studios in Chicago.

Through its programs, PILI’s mission is to engage, inspire, and empower those advancing equal access to justice. The organization facilitates collaboration among the Illinois legal community to create a more equitable justice system for all. Crowell was also named to PILI’s Pro Bono Recognition Roster last year for its contributions to providing free legal services to economically challenged individuals, families, and communities in Illinois. In addition, David Lindner, a partner in the firm’s Chicago office, was recently elected to serve on PILI’s Board of Directors.

ADL and Crowell Bring Suit to Hold Iran, Syria and North Korea Accountable for Supporting Hamas’ October 7 Terror Attack in Israel

ADL (the Anti-Defamation League) and Crowell & Moring LLP today filed a federal lawsuit alleging Iran, Syria and North Korea provided material support to Hamas that enabled it to commit atrocities in Israel on October 7, 2023, that killed, injured, and terrorized scores of U.S. citizens and their families, and seeking financial compensation under applicable federal and local laws. The suit names over 125 plaintiffs, including U.S. citizens who were injured or killed as a result of the October 7 attack, and immediate family members of those injured or killed.
