Orange County – September 13, 2022: The Orange County Coalition for Diversity in the Law (OCCDL) has recognized Crowell & Moring’s Orange County Office as a 2022 “Top Ten Diverse Legal Organization for DEI in OC” for the second consecutive year, and named associate David Griffith to its list of “Top Ten Diverse Lawyers of OC.” The coalition honors legal organizations and young diverse attorneys who provide excellent legal services and work to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Orange County community.
“We are thrilled that our office has once again been selected for this honor,” said Deborah Arbabi, managing partner of Crowell’s Orange County office. “Our Orange County office has a pivotal role in the firm’s ongoing initiatives to support diversity, equity, and inclusion to the fullest extent. This commitment is a core value, and an imperative that we recognize as requiring bold action.”
Crowell’s Orange County office represents national and international client in litigation and arbitration, regulatory, and transactional matters. Since its opening in 1991, the office and its lawyers have received numerous honors that reflect its commitment to diversity and inclusion. Prominent roles held by the office’s lawyers include serving as co-chair of the Orange County Bar Association’s Diversity Committee; president of the Orange County Asian American Bar Association; a founding board member and a president of the Orange County Lavender Bar Association; and president of the Public Law Center.
Griffith, a member of the firm’s Antitrust & Competition Group, focuses his practice on advising corporate and individual clients in regulatory enforcement actions, government investigations, criminal defense maters, private litigation, and internal investigations. Among his other recent engagements, Griffith defended a food industry corporation in a DOJ investigation into allegations of illegal agreements among competitors.
“From the beginning, I felt the Orange County office was a place where I belonged and that the firm would invest in me as a young associate, said Griffith. “It is the ongoing support I receive and the opportunities I’m given at Crowell that have been the foundation of my success.”
In addition to these OCCDL accolades, Orange County associate Tiffany Aguiar has been selected to participate in the 2022 Hispanic National Bar Association/VIA Fund Latina Leadership Academy.

Crowell & Moring Represents Nuclear Energy Startup Atomic Alchemy in its Acquisition by Oklo
March 11, 2025: Oklo Inc. (NYSE: OKLO), an advanced nuclear technology company, announced on March 5, 2025 that it has closed the $25 million acquisition of Crowell client Atomic Alchemy Inc. (“Atomic Alchemy”), a leading innovator in radioisotope production. Oklo intends to use this strategic acquisition to establish a more reliable domestic supply chain for high-value radioisotopes critical to healthcare, research, and defense sectors and provides synergies to Oklo’s fuel recycling and nuclear energy businesses. Demand for radioisotopes is expected to increase significantly over the next decade, while global supply struggles to keep pace due to aging reactor infrastructure and a fragmented global supply chain, which at present is dominated by countries outside the United States. Atomic Alchemy intends to be a low-cost U.S. radioisotope producer that can provide a secure and domestic supply of radioisotopes to U.S. companies commercializing innovative radioisotope applications. With its proprietary VIPR® technology, Atomic Alchemy is building the first scalable production facility to provide a reliable, sustainable source of high-value radioisotopes. Using a vertically integrated model and fuel recycling, in partnership with Oklo, Atomic Alchemy is transforming isotope production to address global shortages, support critical applications, and strengthen national security. The core deal team included Samuel Holland Edwards, Jon O’Connell, Justin Lurie, and Ryan Flynn.
