Los Angeles – January 29, 2024: Los Angeles Business Journal named Crowell & Moring partners Evan Chuck and Sima Namiri-Kalantari to its 2024 Most Influential Minority Attorneys in Los Angeles list. The list honors lawyers who are “impactful on the legal scene while serving as trusted advisors in the LA region.”
Chuck leads Crowell’s Asia practice and is a partner in the firm’s International Trade and Corporate Groups. With more than three decades of international trade and cross-border transactional experience, Chuck is a strategic advisor to multinational companies in structuring market entry, global supply chain and e-commerce strategies across the Asia-Pacific region. He has in-depth experience in China with cross-border acquisitions/dispositions, government regulatory compliance, and investigations.
The LABJ notes that Chuck “provides unparalleled guidance to Fortune 50 companies on navigating the complexities of China’s Antiforeign Sanctions Law, PRC Export Control Law, Unreliable Entity List, and the PRC Cybersecurity Law.” He also advises on the impact of such laws on supply chains that incorporate Chinese manufacturing or sourcing that could conflict with laws like the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act and other corporate policies related to environmental and social governance.
Namiri-Kalantari is a partner in the firm's Antitrust & Competition Group. LABJ states that she has “established herself as a distinguished complex commercial litigator, specializing in antitrust and unfair competition law.” Her primary practice includes defending clients in civil antitrust litigation as well as assisting Fortune 500 companies to achieve affirmative recovery through litigation when they have been victims of price-fixing cartels.
