Crowell & Moring's Government Contracts and International Trade Groups Named Law360 2015 "Practice Groups of the Year"

Washington, D.C. – January 12, 2016: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce that both its Government Contracts and International Trade groups have been named to Law360's "Practice Groups of the Year" list for 2015. The annual awards recognize firms that came through for clients by sealing the biggest deals and securing wins in high-stakes litigation. This is the sixth consecutive year that the Government Contracts Group has been named to the list.

Regarding the Government Contracts Group, Law360 noted the firm's "continuing muscle" in big-ticket successes in 2015, including vacating a $657 million False Claims Act verdict at the Sixth Circuit for longtime client United Technologies Inc., along with wins for government contractor clients in district courts. The Law360 profile also highlighted the Group's representation of Accenture in its February acquisition of Virginia-based Agilex Technologies, Inc., and its $113 million win for SUFI Network Services at the Court of Federal Claims in July. Crowell & Moring chair Angela B. Styles, who is also co-chair of the Government Contracts Group, noted that "We have an ability to approach a company and exercise our ability to think strategically to get the result you want."

Law360 highlighted the International Trade Group's significant wins at the U.S. Court of International Trade on behalf of Schlumberger Technology Corp. and Meridian Products while also maintaining active export control, customs, and sanctions portfolios in the past year. Group vice chair John B. Brew said, "We take a multidisciplinary approach, and our firm likes to say that there are no walls between practices or groups. We become deeply familiar with clients' business and products, so we can handle issues across practices and across offices." The profile also noted the Group's recent work in Brussels advising clients on compliance with new data privacy regulations.
