Crowell & Moring's Brussels Office Elects New Partner and Welcomes the Appointment of a New Senior Counsel

Brussels, Belgium – February 09, 2015: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce the promotion of Jan-Diederik Lindemans to partner in the firm's Litigation and Trial and Intellectual Property groups. Mr. Lindemans' promotion coincides with the recent arrival of Brussels-based Geert Bogaert to the firm's Dispute Resolution team as senior counsel.

Jan-Diederik's practice focuses on helping clients manage and protect their trade secrets, and intellectual property rights in connection to technology, innovation and creativity driven industries. His expertise particularly focuses on representing clients in matters related to intellectual property-portfolios, commercial disputes, distribution, counterfeiting, search and seizures, and EU-wide or national border measures. Although mostly known as an experienced intellectual property litigator, Mr. Lindemans also frequently assists clients in intellectual property driven transactions.
Jan-Diederik's thought-leadership with respect to trade secret protection and enforcement, pre-trial discovery, recovery of lawyer fees, and many other intellectual property related issues, is expressed in various (inter)national publications. He is also regularly invited to share his views at seminars and conferences.
A graduate of the Catholic University of Leuven, Mr Lindemans joined Crowell & Moring over a decade ago having begun his career at a Belgian media and entertainment boutique firm. He has more recently completed a post-academic course in biotechnology at the State University of Ghent which further reinforces his credentials with expertise in this field.
Geert Bogaert, a highly-regarded figure in the Brussels legal community and amongst Belgian industry brings to the firm thirty-five years of experience in commercial law and advising Belgian and international clients in the automotive sector. Geert is a trusted advisor to many companies in the automotive manufacturing and importing industry, where he advises in dealership related litigation, product liability, network reorganizations, and the drafting of distribution, franchising, technology, intellectual property, and other contracts. Geert joins Crowell & Moring from Loyens & Loeff, where he headed the litigation and commercial law practice and was in charge of its automotive team.
