Crowell & Moring Hosts EU Competition Issues in Global Context

Brussels – June 6, 2019: Crowell & Moring hosted an event with King’s College London that drew a host of leading figures from the world of European and U.S. antitrust circles who are focused on EU competition law.

Held on  the grounds  of the Warande Club, the EU Competition Issues in Global Context event drew a wide array of senior academics – including William Kovacic and Richard Whish, senior European enforcers such as Commissioner Gabriella Muscolo of the Italian Competition Authority, Felix Engelsing of the BKA, Mike Walker, chief economist of the UK CMA, and Wouter Wils, Annemiek Wilpshaar and Giulio Federico of the European Commission, in-house counsel from GE and Bosch-Siemens, and Crowell & Moring partners Olivier Antoine and Jerome Murphy participated in constructive and informative discussions on a range of issues including international merger control, digital markets, controls on dominant companies, and the future of private enforcement. The key note speaker, Judge Ian Forrester QC, spoke on a number of topics including Brexit.

Attendees included clients and potential clients from some 22 different companies, including Amazon, Alpro, bpost, Chemours, Chevron Phillips, Google, Euroclear, GE, Liberty Global, Nestlé, Telenet and Vodafone. There were also European Commission officials and private practitioners in attendance making for a lively discussion.
