Crowell & Moring Elects Five New Partners and Promotes Fourteen Associates to Counsel

Washington, D.C. – January 14, 2014: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce it has elected five attorneys to the firm's partnership effective January 1, 2014. The firm has also promoted fourteen associates to the position of counsel. The new partners and counsel have been promoted from within the ranks of the firm's Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Brussels, and New York offices.

The newly elected partners are:

Andrew Kaplan is a member of the Advertising & Product Risk Management and Mass Tort, Product, and Consumer Litigation groups and resident in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. His litigation practice involves representing companies and organizations in commercial, healthcare, and product liability actions throughout the U.S. He also counsels clients on product risk management issues and responding to related government civil enforcement actions. He received his B.A. from the College of William & Mary and his J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law.

Emmanuel Plasschaert is a member of the Corporate and Labor & Employment groups and resident in the firm's Brussels office. Plasschaert primarily focuses on individual and collective labor law, including human resources related privacy and international employment issues. He is recognized for his experience with complex restructurings and collective labor law disputes. In addition to his employment practice, he also has significant experience in commercial and complex litigation matters and criminal enforcement issues, including anti-bribery compliance. He studied at the Catholic University of Namur, jur. cand., cum laude, and earned his law degree at the law faculty of the Catholic University of Leuven, jur. lic., cum laude.

Michael K. Robles is a member of the Insurance/Reinsurance Group and resident in the firm's New York office. Robles has experience counseling clients with negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and litigations, involving a litany of substantive and procedural issues. He has been at the forefront of some of the highest profile cases involving the insurance and reinsurance industry over the past decade. Robles earned his B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.

Cari N. Stinebower is a member of the International Trade Group and resident in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. She counsels clients on compliance with U.S. economic sanctions, Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering (AML) laws and regulations, export controls, and anti-corruption/anti-bribery laws and regulations. Stinebower also works closely with colleagues in the White Collar & Regulatory Enforcement, Financial Services, Corporate, and Insurance/Reinsurance groups. She received her B.A., cum laude, from Amherst College, her M.A. from the American University School of International Service, and her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law.

Joshua Stokes is a member of the Antitrust Group and resident in the firm's Los Angeles office. His practice focuses on antitrust litigation, counseling, and complex commercial litigation. Stokes has substantial experience representing clients in large, complex commercial litigation matters, including private antitrust actions under federal law and the Cartwright Act, class actions, Section 17200 cases, and general business litigation. He received his A.B. from Princeton University and his J.D. from Duke University School of Law.

Firm associates promoted to counsel are: Jeremy Abrams, Timothy (Ty) Carson, Jenny E. Cieplak, Kathleen Clair, Amy Sandra Lee, Michael W. Lieberman, Christopher Monahan, Elaine A. Panagakos, Providence Spina, and Luke van Houwelingen in Washington, D.C.; Nimrod (Nimi) Haim Aviad, Emily T. Kuwahara, and Robert B. McNary in Los Angeles; and Karel Janssens in Brussels.
