Crowell & Moring Partner Richard J. Lee Receives Cornerstone Award for Pro Bono Service from Lawyers Alliance for New York

New York – October 17, 2024: Crowell & Moring partner Richard J. Lee  was honored with the 2024 Cornerstone Award from the Lawyers Alliance for New York. The recognition honors individuals and institutions that have made extraordinary pro bono contributions to help nonprofits improve the quality of life for thousands of low-income New Yorkers.

Lee was recognized for his work assisting nonprofits in finance transactions to obtain and provide capital to underserved communities. He worked on several matters, including a national social enterprise organization focused on promoting maternal health and fitness in urban areas; a micro-lending venture fund assisting women entrepreneurs in New York City; and a non-profit credit union advancing economic development in the Bronx. 

“I’ve been fortunate enough to collaboarate with Lawyers Alliance and leverage my experience as a finance lawyer to assist organizations and make a positive impact on underserved communities,”said Lee.  

The Cornerstone Awards will be presented on October 28th, 2024 in New York City. Since 1997, the Lawyers Alliance has honored outstanding contributions in pro bono business and transactional legal services at the annual event.

The Lawyers Alliance for New York is the leading provider of business and transactional legal services for nonprofit organizations that are improving the quality of life in New York City neighborhoods.
