Experienced Lawyers
Experienced lawyers come here for a high-performance culture that keeps people front and center.
Collaboration at the Core
Collaboration among lawyers and professional staff is the cornerstone of our extraordinary client service. To set you up for successful collaboration at Crowell, our on-ramp program gives you a full month without billable hours pressure—time you can spend integrating into your practice group, meeting and getting to know your new colleagues, sharing your interests and abilities, and learning about theirs. Because we know the hours you spend building relationships are just as valuable as the hours you bill.
At my previous firm, I'd already won the trust of lots of partners and was regularly involved in client meetings. I thought it was going to take at least a year before I developed that trust again. But within the first couple of months, I was already back in front of clients. I didn't miss a beat.

Entrepreneurs Welcome
Lawyers who are willing to seek, volunteer for, and embrace growth opportunities will thrive at Crowell. We encourage you to continually expand your portfolio of experience, to get involved in different types of matters, and to own responsibility for solving client problems. Associates and counsel have played leading roles in creating specialty practice areas such as education, technology, and ESG.
While there is a formal lateral integration program at the firm that ensures new recruits are adequately integrated and introduced internally and externally, I have been pleasantly surprised by the many instances of unexpected outreaches and offers of support to ensure my success. As someone who rejoined the firm in large part due to its uniquely collaborative and inclusive culture, it is heartening to confirm from my experiences so far that this culture remains strong.

When You Commit to Us, We Commit to You
Firm newbies and veterans alike will tell you how the firm supported a colleague who needed to care for a family member or change locations for personal reasons. One counsel tells of being empowered to launch a Washington, D.C.-focused regulatory practice while sitting in Los Angeles. Another describes how colleagues at all levels jumped in to cover for him when a parent was diagnosed with a serious illness.
To help you balance your personal health with all the seasons of your career, our CroWellBeing program provides innovative wellness tools, resources, and programs to sustain physical and mental health. Past CroWellBeing programming includes a resilience series during the pandemic, helping our lawyers and staff process the impacts of a two-year lockdown. Through CroWellBeing our lawyers and staff receive free access to the Calm app for themselves and their families.
Within five years, Crowell aims to double the number of attorneys from diverse backgrounds at each attorney level and increase the percentage of women and diverse attorneys in leadership positions. We’ve set an overall goal of adding 150 lawyers from underrepresented backgrounds, and, equally important, we are committed to retain and promote that talent.
