Virginia Wolk Marino

Virginia focuses her practice on all aspects of domestic and global brand protection, copyright, and unfair competition law. Her extensive trademark prosecution, counseling, and litigation practice includes the acquisition, maintenance, licensing, enforcement, and transfer of intellectual property. Virginia’s clients operate in a wide variety of industries, including life sciences, consumer goods, food and beverage, hospitality and travel, technology, and luxury goods. She has significant experience clearing pharmaceutical brand names for various large and midsized pharmaceutical companies as well as trademark prosecution, enforcement, and counseling experience in this field.

Virginia’s counseling practice emphasizes developing and implementing global trademark filing, prosecution, and enforcement strategies and programs, both in the United States and internationally. She also regularly counsels clients on copyright clearance, prosecution, and enforcement issues. Virginia has experience conducting due diligence and intellectual property audits and regularly provides advice on complex licensing and assignment issues.

As a litigator, Virginia represents clients in civil litigation in federal district court and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board opposition and cancellation actions, and she has extensive experience with domain name disputes under the Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy. Virginia regularly assists clients with online intellectual property protection, including web-based trademark protection and vigilance. She has significant experience managing global enforcement actions and also has extensive in-house experience, as she was previously seconded to Accenture as in-house trademark counsel. Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Virginia was a shareholder at Brinks Gilson & Lione.
