Jonathan M. Lindsay specializes in representing high-tech clients in a wide range of industries, including computer software and hardware, medical devices, wireless communications and electrical and electromechanical arts. His practice includes the representation of companies both at the early stages of development, as well as the representation of publicly-traded and multinational companies.

Jonathan is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and has extensive experience in all facets of patent procurement. Jonathan has prosecuted hundreds of patent applications, both domestically as well as abroad. In addition to his core domestic patent practice, Jonathan routinely works with international companies to strategically strengthen their patent portfolios, and has successfully prosecuted patent applications throughout Europe, Asia and South America.

As a member of the Intellectual Property workgroup, Jonathan is routinely engaged in a wide range of technology-related business transactions, including negotiating and drafting intellectual property license agreements and technology development/distribution agreements. His practice includes providing patent portfolio counseling, as well as conducting intellectual property due diligence and related counseling in the context of company acquisitions and financings.

As a full-service intellectual property attorney, Jonathan has an active patent litigation practice which includes conducting pre-litigation validity and infringement analyses, strategic litigation planning, as well as traditional trial practice.

Jonathan studied law at Harvard Law School where he was an editor for the Harvard Journal of Law and Technology. During all three years of law school, Jonathan served as a teaching fellow for the Berkman Center for Internet and Society where he actively participated in cutting edge law and technology policy initiatives, including various policy initiatives headed by Larry Lessig. Jonathan's undergraduate work was completed at the University of Florida, where he graduated, summa cum laude, with a B.S. in engineering. He is a member of the State Bar of California.

Awards & Honors
Each year from 2005 to 2010, Jonathan has been named as one of Southern California's "Rising Stars" in the field of intellectual property law in a survey of his peers, as published in Los Angeles Magazine and Southern California Super Lawyers Magazine.
